What this service is

Defectbird is software for the shop that inspects vehicles: free worksheets that compute on the page, and a paid plan that keeps the record of inspections, vehicles, customers, findings, photos and authorisations. We are the vendor, Ellul Solutions Ltd: you buy the subscription from us directly, and there is no agency, reseller or intermediary anywhere in it.

How we are paid

Defectbird Pro is a monthly subscription: you pay us, Ellul Solutions Ltd, the legal entity you contract with, and that name appears on your Stripe receipt. It is $29 per seat per month and renews monthly at the price shown until you cancel.

Online payments. When you connect your own Stripe account and take a payment through a pay link, Defectbird charges a platform fee of 1% of that payment, in addition to Stripe's own processing fee. Stripe deducts both from the payment before it is paid out to you; Defectbird never holds your customers' money. The rate that applies is the one shown in your account on the day the pay link is created, and a change to it applies only to links created afterwards.

The tool index lists every free worksheet on this site with its worked example figures.

No warranty

The worksheets compute from the figures you enter and the method stated on each page. They are arithmetic, not a state inspection standard, not a repair procedure and not a diagnosis, and nothing on this site decides whether a particular vehicle passes an inspection or is safe to drive; that is the licensed station's answer and the technician's own judgement on the vehicle in front of them.
